A comprehensive analysis of two global military occupations — Chile’s occupation of Bolivia’s Antofagasta province during the War of the Pacific (1879–1904), and Spain’s attempted reconquest of Mexico at the Battle of Tampico (1829) — conducted alongside a five-person research team by gathering and synthesizing primary and secondary sources, with a specialty in Spanish-language documents. The project produced four unique, data-driven code sheets to support decision-making researchers working with the dataset.
